I am a Licensed Master Social Worker who specializes in treating Alcohol & Drug Abuse & Dependency issues. I have also effectively worked with adults and teens having issues with Depression, Anxiety, Domestic Violence, Anger, PTSD and Co-occurring Disorders.
I started in the area of addictions in 1990 working at St. John’s residential treatment center The Oxford Institute as an intern, then as a Social Work Technician after receiving my Associates in Applied Science in Mental Health/Social Work with honors from Oakland Community College. I moved to outpatient practice for my second internship at Eastwood Clinics in Rochester Hills where I developed and implemented an Intensive Outpatient program for two of their agencies. After achieving my Bachelors of Social Work with honors in 1994, I remained in the outpatient treatment arena for my full time therapy career. I've continued to volunteer at residential treatment centers doing lectures on recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
Having completed two internships focusing entirely on treating addiction, I focused on family systems for my Masters of Social Work at Wayne State University. Working under a nationally acclaimed children and families of dependency supervisor at Henry Ford’s Maplegrove Center, this population of cliental was added to my expertise.
